VUZU AMP rebrands to 1Magic on DStv

New year, New look! DStv customers are in for a treat in 2018 when a new channel makes its debut on DStv Channel 103! From Monday, 29 January 2018, the curtain will fall on VUZU AMP to make way for 1Magic on DStv channel 103 – a new channel that will deliver the hottest local and international entertainment to DStv Premium and DStv Compact+ customers at great value.
On this rebranded channel, DStv viewers can look forward to an array of exclusive and riveting local programming like The River, Unmarried and Kheth'oMthandayo. Together with audience favourites and the edgiest international series such as the much-anticipated season finale of The Fixer as well as Ballers, Queen Sugar, Insecure, Survivor’s Remorse, this channel promises to provide the best in urban entertainment. VUZU AMP fans will certainly not miss out on any of their favourite programming as 1Magic will continue to serve a mix of compelling, relevant and entertaining shows adding to their existing, exciting viewing.

1Magic will become the entertainment destination of choice for viewers who enjoy gripping local dramas, movies, telenovelas, reality shows and are also looking for the best in the latest pop-culture favourite programming in reality, series, drama and movies. Leading the charge will be the channel’s flagship telenovela, The River, which boasts the crème de la crème of South Africa’s acting talent. Starting on 29 January 2018, it is spearheaded by a formidable cast made up of seasoned actors, Sindi Dlathu, Hlomhla Dandala, Moshidi Motshegwa, and newcomer, Larona Moagi. The River is about the deadly result that comes about when the greedy world of society’s upper crust collides with that of ordinary common folk. Driven by the themes of love across social classes, greed and a community fighting to survive, it’s a show that can’t be missed.

On 2 February, look out for new chic urban drama Unmarried, which unpacks themes of love, urban hustle and bustle, and the daily challenges faced by young urban couples in trying to juggle life and newfound aspirations. The drama also boosts a stellar cast of South African household names such as Fezile Makhanya, Thembisa Mdoda, Renate Stuurman amongst others.
