Namibian boxing to reach global heights with IBO Super Bantamweight World Title this weekend
Namibian boxing is set to break new ground when Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda will battle it out for twelve rounds in the ring to defend his IBO Super Bantamweight title against Jason “Nugget” Cooper from Australia at the Ramatex Hall on Saturday, 5th December.

This epic event in the boxing calendar also marks SuperSport’s debut of live broadcasting in Namibia. As the biggest contributor in Africa investment in continental sport, SuperSport will avail the story of Nambian boxing to millions of viewers across the world this weekend, with live feeds across Africa and Australia.

Other Namibian boxers whose fights will be broadcast in the lead up to the main fight include Jeremiah Nakathila; Walter “Executioner” Kautondokwa; Immanuel “Prince” Naidjala; Sacky “Izinyoka” Shikukutu and Betuel “Tyson” Ushona.

To this end, Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital & Corporate Affairs Officer at MTC reaffirmed the strategic importance of their ongoing sponsorship deal to the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing Academy: “The MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing Academy is a worthy investment, because they have a winning mentality and represent Namibia well against the rest of the world.”

Nestor Tobias of MTC Nestor Sunshine Productions concurred that Saturday’s event is an unprecedented opportunity showcase Namibia’s spectacular local boxing talent to the rest of the world.
