The new MultiChoice Namibia Ongwediva branch was officially inaguarated by the Governor of the Oshana Region, Hon. Clemens H. Kashuupulwa on Tuesday, 25th October 2016.

Distinguished guests representing the vibrant Northern Region included Cllr. Angelina Angula, Her Worship, the Mayor of Ongwediva Town; Comrade Elago Martin, Chief Regional Officer of the Oshana Region along with regional and local authority councilors as well as captains of industry.

MultiChoice first opened its doors in Ongwediva in 2006, and recently moved its new location at Shop 39, Maroela Mall.In accordance with the video entertainment provider’s role of enriching lives, Roger Gertze, General Manager of MultiChoice Namibia commented:“We listened to our customers to understand their changing needs and as such, we’re currently reshaping our business to improve our customers’ experience.I am confident that the new look and new location will do just that.”

He continued by stating that MultiChoice is proud of its contribution to the Oshana communities through investment in the local economy with 6 staff members, 5 retailers, 6 accredited installers and an agent in Ondangwa that set up just under a year ago.Furthermore, MultiChoice Namibia launched GOtv in June 2014, to make great entertainment more accessible to Namibians in the region.A new agent in Ondangwa was opened a year ago.

In terms of value-addition to the local industries, Mr. Gertze commented:“We believe that this branch contributes greatly, not only to single view subscribers, but also to the many visitors attending the Ongwediva Trade Fair annually as well as hotels, tourist destinations and guesthouses in the area which remains a solid contribution to economic investment”.

Last week, MultiChoice introduced more variety and quality for DStv subscribers with eleven new HD channels for DStv Premium, three new channels on DStv Compact as well as two new channels on DStv Family.

Harmonious with MultiChoice’s core social investment of education, over 70 schools in the Oshana region have previously benefited from the MultiChoice Resource Centre programme.The rollouts of upgrades are steadily underway of which each school will a flatscreen TV, DStv Explora, dish kit and access to the DStv educational bouquet.
